Director of NLI Curriculum and Assessment
Marc is the Director of NLI Curriculum and Assessment. He has worked in various settings at Virginia Tech since 1993, primarily with a focus on transformative education, as well as language and critical reading/writing skills. He worked for almost 10 years for the English Department, teaching and tutoring in the Writing Center. From 2008-2017, he joined what is now TLOS and began to direct the ePortfolio Initiatives at Virginia Tech, focused on large scale deployment of student-centered learning technologies. Through all of those experiences, his interests range widely: reflective practices, social technologies, social learning and pedagogies, ePortfolios, authentic assessment, problem and project based learning, diffusion of innovations, and professional development. At NLI, he hopes to bring these skills to focus on developing a full set of high quality, impactful offerings for Virginia Tech.
