Senior Director, Networked Learning Initiative and Faculty Digital Fluency
As Senior Director, Aaron provides leadership for NLI. He oversees NLI operations, curriculum, and cultivates partner and participant relationships. He has worked in the field of instructional technology, education, and professional development for more than 15 years. Aaron has a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in curriculum and instruction. His areas of research include faculty professional development, learning communities, communities of practice for professional development, constructivist and socio-constructivist learning environments, and meaningful course design. Aaron believes that education must do more than prepare students to recall facts for a test. Instead education must prepare students to work and thrive in the 21st century. His instructional philosophy is centered around the importance of critical thinking, collaboration, and authentic learning experiences. Aaron loves to spend time with his two kids.
