Advanced Research Computing (ARC) provides centralized support for research computing by building, operating and promoting the use of advanced cyberinfrastructure at Virginia Tech. ARC delivers a comprehensive ecosystem consisting of advanced computational systems, large-scale data storage, visualization facilities, software, and consulting services. ARC provides education and outreach services through conferences, seminars, and scientific computing courses. ARC seeks to help maximize research productivity at Virginia Tech through interdisciplinary collaborations that connect researchers to new opportunities in computing and data driven research as they occur. By fostering strategic partnerships with the public and private sector, ARC serves to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit around advanced computing infrastructure as a platform for collaboration and helps secure the position of Virginia Tech as a leader in education and research.

Pathways is a vibrant, flexible, and innovative general education program, that provides a coherent and meaningful learning experience and allows students to integrate the learning for use throughout their lifetimes.
As a central component of the undergraduate experience at Virginia Tech, the Pathways curriculum will guide students to examine the world from multiple perspectives and integrate their knowledge across disciplines and domains of learning through a hands-on, minds-on approach.

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) fosters the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of disciplinary and interdisciplinary learner-centered instruction; promotes and recognizes excellence in higher education instruction; supports and conducts research on the scholarship of teaching and learning; and advocates for a campus climate that values educating the whole student through effective, innovative and transformative instruction.

The College of Engineering Office of Global Engineering Engagement and Research (GEER) and Information Technology at Virginia Tech has supported post-baccalaureate education for working engineers and scientists in the United States for over twenty years. The graduate programs offered include Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, and Systems Engineering. The Distance Learning programs are offered via state of the art technology that includes interactive videoconferencing (IVC) and online delivery methods.
Student computing requirements, software licensing, research computing and a host of other services are also the responsibility of our office.
International Programs, be it studying, co-oping, or interning abroad, are administered by Dean Scales out of this office.

The Enterprise GIS Group was created in 2008 as a unit of "Converged Technologies for Security, Safety, and Resilience" which reports to the University CIO. Enterprise GIS facilitates access to central IT resources supporting storage and hosting of GIS data for academic and administrative uses within the university community. The group also provides training that lowers barriers to entry to the use of GIS tools, analysis processes, and other resources as the state-of-the-art in geospatial sciences continues to advance. Central support of GIS as a strategic component of the university’s technology infrastructure is intended to create efficiencies of scale and significant cost savings to university departments by leveraging the latest technologies in data hosting and storage as well as the expertise of the IT professionals in the IT organization who manage the university's computing and networking functions on a daily basis.

The Office for Equity and Accessibility houses the offices of ADA and Accessibility Services, Affirmative Action, Conflict Resolution, Harassment and Discrimination, and Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act. Collectively, these units coordinate and support civil rights compliance and offer resources to address workplace conflicts.

The Graduate School is responsible for the development, administration, and evaluation of graduate education throughout the University. The mission of the Statistical Collaboration Laboratory of Virginia Tech (SCL) is to provide statistical advice, analysis, and education to Virginia Tech researchers by offering individual collaboration meetings, walk-in consulting, educational short courses, and support for interdisciplinary research projects.
Our statistical collaborators are trained to help design experiments, analyze and plot data, run statistical software, interpret results, and communicate statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
